Look around at all of the new construction. This building boom has caused supply & demand of materials to be a major issue. It is getting difficult to obtain materials at any price.

The vented soffit panel on your home is most likely plugged up from being painted shut! In 2021, close to 60% of our work was replacing vented soffit panel on homes that were just a few years old. Someone selling their 6 year old home will paint the soffit panel and fascia to make the home look awesome. Unfortunately, the buyer has no clue that the freshly painted soffit panel is ruined & must be replaced!

One customer with a two month old home in North Tampa, wanted dark brown soffit panel to match her brown window frames & brown front door. A painter with 30 years experience painted the new vented white soffit panel dark brown. Within two days the homeowner called the AC repairman to fix the ac unit blowing hot air. The AC tech informed the lady that the attic was over 160 degrees! The AC unit was working perfectly. The homeowner was forced to open the fold-down door (in her garage) that goes into her attic. The homeowner held the painting contractor liable for painting the vented soffit panel shut.

The customer contacted me & we installed new vented brown soffit panel and new brown "woodgrain" fascia metal. Instantly, the home cooled down & the ac unit is working as it should. The painting contractor paid our invoice and said he knew better than to paint the soffit & fascia, but he did it anyway?

If you purchased a previously owned home, there is a good possibility that dirt, pollen, attic insulation, & all sorts of other debris has clogged the soffit ventilation over the years. If your home is around 15 years old, or older, I guarantee you the vented soffit panel is clogged!

When your soffit vents are clogged, your attic area can not exchange "super-heated" air for fresh air. When your soffit vents are shut closed for any reason the ambient temperature in the attic can reach 165 degrees or hotter! The AC ductwork simply can NOT deliver cold air conditioning to the living area of the home. This causes your home ac unit to run continuously and never really cool the home properly. The AC unit will have a very short lifetime & electric bills will be extremely high in Summer months.

Blocked soffit ventilation, will also not allow condensation that forms every night when the sun goes down. This condensation is formed when your hot attic cools off at night. Condensation (fog) naturally rolls into the soffit area. Properly vented soffit allows the condensation to evaporate. If your soffit panel is plugged up, the condensation turns to mildew, or deadly black mold. This mold will grow in the walls of your home and can cause serious respiratory issues which can result in death!

When soffit panel is clogged up & your attic is 165 degrees at noon, the shingles literally fry! If you go outside and look at your shingle roof from the ground and you see the shingles curled up on the edges and resemble "potato chips", you can be assured your attic does not properly exchange air. A 30 year shingle roof will need to be replaced in 10 to 15 years. The shingles become brittle and cracked & soon the roof leaks when it rains.

This requires that I have "filler jobs", to keep my installers working steadily. I save you the salesperson's 20% commission! We usually perform all "filler jobs" immediately, or within a week or so.

Our RETAIL sales are mostly all new "High End", construction. This is because we are properly insured, I pay my installers more than any other company in the area. Hence, I only employ the very best craftsmen in the industry! Doing work for general contractors is our bread & butter.

Doing repairs & "upgrades" for folks on their homes keeps my installers working steadily. My installers get paid the same if they do a 3 story new home on the beach, as they do for working on your home. The savings to the homeowner is the 20% sales commission that we don't need to cover! I own the company so I don't get paid a salesman's commission.
